Exponat im Rahmen der Sonderausstellung »Was Europa bewegte – von Fahrrad bis Automobil«
Die Firma Csepel baute ab 1939 vor allem kleine Leichtmotorräder mit 100 ccm-Motoren. Nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges stieg auch in Ungarn der Bedarf an motorisierten Zweirädern. Csepel baute daher wieder kleine Motorräder, diesmal mit 125 ccm. Ab 1956 wurde der Markenname in „Pannonia“ geändert. Neben braven Alltagsmotorrädern erschien 1960 die Pannonia TLB, welche mit ihrer üppigen Blechverkleidung in schicker Zweifarblackierung ganz dem Zeitgeschmack entsprach. Man versuchte so, die Vorteile des Motorrades mit dem modischen Aussehen eines Motorrollers zu kombinieren. Pannonia-Motorräder wurden auch in viele Länder exportiert. Ihre Produktion endete 1975 auf staatlichen Beschluss.
Since 1939 the company Csepel built especially small light motorcycles with with 100 cc engines. After the end of the Second World War the demand for motorised two-wheelers also increased in Hungary. Csepel therefore built small motorcycles again, this time with 125 cc. Since 1956 the brand name was changed into „Pannonia“. The Pannonia TLB appeared in 1960 in addition to the staid everyday motorcycles. This motorcycle was – with its lavish sheet metal cladding in a chic two-tone paintwork – entirely in keeping with the taste of the time. The aim was to combine the advantages of a motorcycle with the fashionable look of a scooter. Pannonia motorcycles were also exported to many countries. Their production ended in 1975 by government decision.
